About this mod

Great Board of Contributors

The Mod

Take command of the Second Galactic War. Supreme Command turns HellForge's single-player galactic war into a strategy campaign you run from your own command map.

The campaign
Super Earth starts with its home planets; every other planet is locked until it borders your territory. Capture the three enemy homeworlds (Cyberstan, Nabatea Secundus, Setia) to win. The war runs while the game runs.

SEAF Divisions
Raise SEAF Infantry Divisions on Super Earth and move them along the planet links. Send one into an Immediate invasion (it starts on arrival) or a Planned one (10 minutes of preparation, better odds). In your missions on that planet, the division calls in SEAF squads: one to three per wave, by its SEAF level.

Supply and strength
Fighting burns supply; out of supply, divisions wear down and can be shattered. Halt them to resupply, rotate them out, and rebuild them behind the lines. Build Fortress Planets (one per sector) to extend your supply lines.

Operations
Draw attack plans across several planets and let your divisions split the targets, or post divisions on your planets with a defence plan to weaken enemy attacks there.

The enemy fights back
Lost invasions bring counter-attacks. The enemy also launches its own offensives where you look weak. Resistance rises the closer you get to an enemy homeworld; encircled planets are weaker. Running invasions show their own timer on the galactic map.

Homeworld sieges
Cyberstan, Nabatea Secundus and Setia need a special siege order. Capture at least two planets linked directly to a homeworld, station five divisions on captured adjacent planets, then select them and right-click the homeworld. The siege takes 10 hours of active fighting. If fewer than five assigned divisions can fight, its timer pauses until you bring replacements.

Super Earth under siege
If an enemy takes a planet directly linked to Super Earth, a 10-hour final siege begins automatically. Retake every captured approach before the timer runs out. If Super Earth falls, the war is lost.

How to play

  • Start a HellForge session with the Galactic War mode All planets open in Launcher settings.

  • Press F7 for the command map (tabs: Operations, Held, Attacks, Enemy, Divisions).

  • Operations tab: shows current orders and divisions assigned to them

  • Held tab: displays the Super Earth controlled planets.

  • Enemy tab: presents a list of planets, available for liberation

  • Divisions tab: the + in the left empty field raises a division. Click it, then choose the division type and the available Fortress Planet; once the division is on, pick it, then right-click a planet for orders. Ctrl + click picks several; the buttons under the map draw plans.

  • Ctrl + click several divisions on the same planet, then right-click one of the selected divisions to Form an Army. The Army Group appears above its divisions in the Divisions list and receives movement and invasion orders together. Its divisions take 90 seconds between jumps.

  • To draw a plan, click the desired division, then Attack (invasion) or Defense (controlled planet) plan. Then, left-click an available planet to pick it for the plan.

  • An Army Group creates an Operation with its orders automatically. You can also Ctrl + click several ungrouped orders in the Operations tab, then right-click one of them to Form an Operation. Open an Operation to see its orders, targets, status and assigned divisions.

  • SEAF are deployed within the missions, on the invaded planets, or during the defence (if the SEAF division is present).

  • To scroll the map, left-click the empty space and drag the mouse. You can zoom in and zoom out by scrolling the third button.

  • You can left-click a planet to see its information and available actions.

  • Settings live in sgw-rules.txt in the mod folder.

Known limits (alpha)

  • Your own missions don't count towards a campaign yet: SEAF liberates on its own, and you fight alongside it.
  • The galactic map refreshes about once a minute.
  • An urgent liberation's timer reads DEFEND (the game's own label).
  • No real victory implemented yet.

What's new in 0.8.1

What changed in 0.8.1 - Command View is 20% larger, and scales to fit the screen. Map dragging and zooming now repaint faster. - SEAF call-in waves are three minutes apart for planned invasions and defences, and four minutes apart for immediate invasions. - Cyberstan now receives its eight factory-city region entries when it opens.
